This birthday card is currently winging its way to New Zealand for my mother-in-law. It is parchment work using Groovi plates, a felt tip pen and card stock. The parchment square was cut out using the Clarity picot dies as was the piece of white card stock. There is a matching Groovi plate which I used to add the border onto the parchment. I used two different Groovi plates for the main body of work on the parchment. I used a whole circle image for the butterfly picture and an additional image from the plate to create the smaller butterfly, then pierced and picot cut this out separately. The background dots were created using the diagonal piercing grid and a ball tool. I coloured in the parts you can see using a single coloured felt tip pen. The most difficult part was finding some card to perfectly match the pen colour. Found the words 'On your special day' from a different Groovi plate, then carefully tore out the words and wrapped around the card. The parchment and white card are held together with white brads, the white card was then adhered to the coloured card.
I think I got a little ink on the main dot part of the parchment work, and some of my lines aren't as straight as they could be, but overall I was pleased with how it turned out - I think two toned pieces are very striking to look at - what do you think?
